Kahea Kiwaha (he/him) is a queer Hawaiian-Tejano filmmaker and producer dedicated to amplifying voices too often left unheard. A storyteller at heart, Kahea channels his personal experiences into projects like A Hurt Like Mine, which he wrote and directed. The deeply personal short film explores the quiet realities of surviving domestic violence and was supported by the 2023 PIC Short Film Grant and generous donations from supporters on Seed&Spark. He also produced the Webby-nominated Man Enough Podcast, using storytelling and media to challenge societal norms, particularly around patriarchy. Beyond the screen, Kahea is passionate about bringing people together, having worked on major festivals including Outfest and AFI Fest and collaborated with producing teams through organizations such as Film Independent and NALIP. In 2024, Kahea participated in the PEAK Pasifika Producer and Executive Fellowship, further developing his skills as a creative leader. Across his work, he is committed to fostering community, creating space for underrepresented voices, and harnessing the power of storytelling to inspire meaningful change.
